We offer a full flight training service here in Bloomfield, Indiana. Customers come from all over the US to learn to fly with us, and our training is individually tailored to suit the schedule of each prospective Pilot.
If you are an existing fixed wing pilot, you can expect to take 10-12 hours to convert to flying a trike. Remember all the controls are reversed except the hand throttle, and it seems to take this amount of time for a trained Pilot to fully assimilate these new skills.
If you have never flown any type of aircraft before, you can expect to take around 15 -20 hours to progress to a competent solo standard. For the new Sport Pilot License you will need additional flight training in ground reference maneuvers and cross country navigation. It is possible to complete this training in a second phase, even at a later date. For flight training prices click on the prices link at the bottom of the page.
Ground School and Home Study is a necessary part of learning to fly, and we recommend a number of books and aids, that you will need as reference material during your flight training. You can view the reading list by clicking on the link below.
We are located approximately one and a half hours drive south west of Indianapolis Airport and economical accomodation is available locally at the Park Inn Linton (call 812-847-8631).This is approximately 12 minutes away from the airfield. A wider range of hotels and motels can be found in Bloomington, IN, some 40 minutes travel time from the airport.
Safety is a key aspect of learning to fly any aircraft, and we insist on the highest safety standards in our flight training
so that the pilots who train here take away a full understanding of the flight envelope of the aircraft and how to deal with emergencies, in flight or on the ground.
Please call us at 812-84-4760 or 765-602-0136 (cell) to discuss your flight training requirements.
